Dishwasher Limescale Care: How Often and How
Limescale is the silent enemy that shortens your machine's life the most. With a simple monthly ritual you can keep your machine running like it did five years ago.

Your dishwasher's interior meets hot mineral-rich water every cycle. Over time, those minerals build up as a crust on the heating element, filters and base: limescale.
The effect isn't just cosmetic. A heater coated in limescale uses more energy to reach temperature. Clogged filters disperse water unevenly. Result: longer cycles, higher electricity bills, faster wear.
How often?
Simple rule: once a month. In harder-water regions (Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara and similar) shift to every three weeks.
How to do it
- 01The machine must be empty. No dishes inside.
- 02Twist open the cap of Pink Home Dishwasher Cleaner.
- 03Invert the bottle and place it on the lower rack.
- 04Run a cycle at the highest temperature (usually 65–75 °C).
- 05Recycle the empty bottle afterwards.
Bonus: pair with rinse aid
Refill Ultimate Shine Rinse Aid right after a limescale clean. You'll see a visible drop in water spots on glassware from the very next wash. The two together complete the 'clean machine + clear dishes' pair.
Begin a calmer ritual.
The Pink Home collection turns every step in this piece into a daily kitchen ritual.
