Your dishwasher's interior meets hot mineral-rich water every cycle. Over time, those minerals build up as a crust on the heating element, filters and base: limescale.
The effect isn't just cosmetic. A heater coated in limescale uses more energy to reach temperature. Clogged filters disperse water unevenly. Result: longer cycles, higher electricity bills, faster wear.
How often?
Simple rule: once a month. In harder-water regions (Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara and similar) shift to every three weeks.
How to do it
- 01The machine must be empty. No dishes inside.
